Calavera Hills Campout!

The boys and I joined the school for the annual Coyote Dad Campout (the Dad PTA). Of course I'm not an experienced tent putter-upper so I had to have the Dads give me a hand....or two....or three. Heehee. Actually, we borrowed the tent from a neighbor (J took the ones we had) and there was a broken pole. The dads came to the rescue and put it together for us! Yay!!

 

Carlsbad Flower Fields

If you don't know, Carlsbad is known for two things, Legoland & the Flower Fields. OK, probably known for more than that. Heehee. Well, Zane's class went on a field trip to the flower fields last month and I got to be a driver! Or should I say, I had to be a driver or NO FIELD TRIP! I told myself after the Science Center with Aidan's class that I wasn't up for field trips, but the thought of them not going because they were short a driver got me to do it. It was worth it. It was a lot more organized that the Science Center. Here we go!

See the blue strip on the horizon? That's the ocean. On a clear day, it's absolutely beautiful. :-)

A few quotes

I don't write down half of the funny things the boys say, but I do write down a few. I wrote these down a while ago on a scratch piece of paper and wanted to put them on here. Heehee.

OK, Aidan, Zane & I were going somewhere. Where? I can't remember, but the point is, it was just the three of us. Very rarely am I ever with those two alone anywhere. Here's what Aidan said:

"It's just me, you and Zane? . . . . . . . That's WEIRD!"  Hahahaha!!

Zane was having a nightmare one night & I went in to settle him down. I told him to think about ice cream. He had trouble so I used imagery type techniques. I had him choose a flavor & we decided we were going to make a sundae. He started by saying:

 "We need a scoop for me, you, dad. . . . .how many kids again?". Hahahaha! That's when you know you have a lot of kids.

Now I wasn't outside with the boys, but my Dad was. They were sitting at the patio table doing something. Eating, crafts or something. Anyway, they were being good and sharing whatever it was. Zane was saying thank you to Zarek. He said:

"Thank you brother", then looked over to my Dad and said, "I call him my brother". Heehee. Not sure if you had to be there for that one, but it was pretty darn funny being he said that to my Dad. They see him almost every day. Hahahahaha!!

OK, I'm doing good trying to catch up. I'll post more later.

The Dentist

Today Zane & Zarek had their checkup at the dentist. Zane had to get fillings and Zarek had to get sealant (he is going to have to go to a pediatric dentist specialist because his teeth have serious issues. Poor little guy) Anyway, both of them were so excited to go. You would have thought they were going to Chuck E. Cheese. Zane on the way said more than once, "Thank you Mom for taking us". And yes, he had to get fillings already so he already knew what he was in for. He couldn't wait to get the cool prizes at the end. Zane told Zarek, "Zarek, we get to get prizes!!".

They crack me up! :-)

Aidan's 9th, yes 9th B-day!

Can you believe Aidan is 9? I can't. Really, I can't. Seems like yesterday he was one of "The Babies". Not anymore, but I still call him "my biggest baby". Heehee. Guess I will do that til he's 50, right? I know Alec is really "The Biggest Baby", but when the 3 little ones were, well babies, Aidan was the biggest one. Heehee.
OK, so for his B-day he wanted to go to Boomers with a couple of friends. One couldn't make it, but I know his mom and we will have many play dates this Summer. He also wanted to bake his own cupcakes. Check out anythingfood for the pix.

 

Know what gets me? This pic has a lot of kids in it and only ONE isn't mine!! Hahaha!!

TKD Tourni

Aidan, Zane & Zarek went to a taekwondo tournament in Pechanga (an Indian reservation w/ a casino) about 45 min away about a month ago. It was Zarek's first one & Aidan did weapons too so he got two trophies. The tournaments at this age give a trophy to everyone for just participating so they were very excited. You can still place first, second & third, but the boys didn't this time. That's OK, they had a great time. :-)

Easter '09

Here they are painting the eggs. I still use good ol' Paas.

There were dollar bills in some of the eggs. You'd think Zane would hope to get one right? Nope, he was so excited to get CANDY in his eggs!!

Rock Band!

Let's hear it for the BRYANT BOYS!!! WOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!!!!

Check out the spikey hair & tats. Yep that's a chain tattoo on Aidan's neck. Hahaha! Zarek is singing "What I've Done" by Linkin Park. I videotaped it too. I love it!

Bobby V's Got Talent

My dad entered the America's Got Talent contest in Valley View. It's about an hour away. The boys were with their dad so I went out to support him. It was fun. There were a few good acts & one guy even tried to lip sync if you can believe it. Hahaha!! Good job Dad! He didn't advance, but it was a fun experience.

Zany Brainy's B-day

OK, here's the B-day hike. Jules flew down here with her son that's the same age as Zane. We, along with other friends, hiked the mountain and had a picnic atop. It was awesome!

We made it! Woo-hoo!
